The Seattle Swoosh – A Beautiful Custom Hardwood Art Floor

In the heart of West Seattle, a unique hardwood art floor project took shape, embodying the essence of Ourada Designs’ commitment to artistic craftsmanship and personalized design. Dubbed “Seattle Swoosh,” this endeavor was more than just a flooring installation; it was a journey into transforming a space into a living, breathing work of art. When I was approached by the client, a business owner with a keen artistic sense, the challenge was to create something that not only complemented the character of their 1970s split-level home but also reflected their vibrant personality and creative spirit. The project began with an exploratory consultation, laying the foundation for what would become a significant transformation of their living space.

Communicating About a Custom Hardwood Art Floor

Every extraordinary hardwood art floor design begins with a simple conversation. Contacting Ourada Designs is the first step in transforming an idea into a tangible work of art. The ‘Seattle Swoosh’ project started with a client’s call, expressing a desire to reimagine their floors. This initial communication is crucial, as it sets the tone and direction for the entire creative process. It’s where dreams begin to take shape and possibilities start to unfold.

Hardwood Art Floor Consultation

Consultation is a critical phase where I dive deep into the client’s space, understanding its unique character and potential. For ‘Seattle Swoosh’, this meant walking through a split-level home, visualizing how our hardwood art could transform an ordinary space into something extraordinary. During this stage, I gather insights on the room’s purpose, existing décor, and the client’s personal style. It’s about capturing the essence of the space and the client’s vision, blending it with artistic ingenuity.

Designing a Custom Hardwood Art Floor

The design process is a collaborative effort, a dance between the client’s vision and my artistic interpretation. For ‘Seattle Swoosh’, this involved creating multiple sketches, each a different reflection of the client’s ideas and preferences. We mixed and matched elements from various designs, fine-tuning and reshaping them until we arrived at a concept that truly resonated. It’s a journey of exploration, where each iteration brings us closer to a design that is both personal and awe-inspiring.

Fabricating the Floor

In fabricating the ‘Seattle Swoosh,’ precision met the raw beauty of wood. Careful planning included mapping the area, understanding the environment of the home, and anticipating how each piece would interact within the space. Crafting the majority of the floor in my workshop allowed for meticulous attention to detail. This phase is about harmonizing the natural qualities of wood with the specific requirements of the space, ensuring that each piece contributes to the overall aesthetic and functionality.

Installing the Floor

Installation is where the vision finally materializes. For ‘Seattle Swoosh,’ the challenge was in transporting and reassembling the intricate hardwood art floor pieces at the client’s home. Ensuring each element fit perfectly was a meticulous and rewarding process. This stage is more than just laying down pieces of wood; it’s about breathing life into the design, watching as the separate components come together to form a cohesive and stunning masterpiece that transforms the space.

This project was more than just installing a floor; it was about creating a piece of art that reflected the client’s personality and resonated with the unique character of their home.
